Harker Heights and the surrounding Fort Hood Area

Harker Heights is located in Bell County, on Hwy 190, west of I-35 near Killeen, TX. Harker Height is centrally located - just southwest of Waco and about 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin. Fort Hood is the area's largest employer. Many military families find homes for sale in Harker Heights and the surrounding cities of Killeen, Copperas Cove, Nolanville, Belton, and Kempner.

Harker Heights is booming with new shopping centers and restaurants. The recent addition of Market Heights brings national and local retailers to the area's new 82-acre shopping center. Some of those businesses include Target, Barnes & Noble, Circuit City, Dick's Sporting Goods, Cracker Barrel and Cheddar's.

Harker Heights parks and recreation offer educational, recreational, parks, and leisure opportunities for kids and adults. The Summit Soccer Complex, Carl Levin City Park, and Harker Heights public library offer recreation and educational activities for all ages.
